Sports fans have a busy week of spectating ahead, with the Villanova men’s basketball home opener, the Temple men’s basketball home opener (versus fellow Philly team the Drexel Dragons), UPenn football’s homecoming, two Flyers games and a 76ers game all going down — on home turf — in the coming days.
In the arts world, the First Person Arts Festival hits its stride with thought-provoking performances from talented storytellers, the Pennsylvania Ballet performs three all-new pieces created exclusively for the company by internationally renowned choreographers and The Philly POPS pay tribute to the Beatles with their POPS Rocks Abbey Road performances.
Two cool film festivals — the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival and the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival — overlap this week as well. Both fests feature an impressive line up of events and screenings that celebrate the Jewish and Asian American experience respectively.
And — because it’s never too early to start spreading holiday cheer! — Peddler’s Village and Dilworth Park both kick off their exciting holiday and winter programming this week for folks eager to see twinkling holiday lights and brush up on their ice-skating skills ahead of the season.
