June 2019

June 2019 was my first month of public photography of people as my subjects.  Prior to June of this year I had primarily focused on landscapes, plain commercial enterprises (that never made any money).  Interesting stuff, well rendered, printable on a billboard scale.  But the work was boring, uninspiring.

People would often come up to me and ask if I did portraiture work. I would always repsond the same way, ‘I never have, but I”d be willing to give it a shot.’  Though not entirely true, I had done some portraiture work on my son and a family friend’s son for practice.  I got some great shots, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be wasting people’s time and money by posing as a portraiture photographer.

At the same time I wanted to extend my own skills in graphic design.  So I started to experiment with some of the more abstract prints.  Tessellating and reflecting the images to play with symmetries.  This proved to be intriguing.

If you’re interested in any of the images below, let me know and I will add it to my ETSY store.  For suggesting it, I will give you a 15% off coupon on your entire purchase.

If you’re a parent and you’d like excellent candid’s taken of your children or you’re interested in my portraiture for events, get in on the beta test, DM me on instagram or contact me through the site and I would be happy to come and do a photo shoot gratis or at low cost (the actual prints would be at cost).
