Welcome to an adventure-packed long weekend — and the official beginning of the holiday season — in Philadelphia.

The weekend kicks off with one of the city’s (and the country’s) top traditions: the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the nation’s oldest Thanksgiving parade that marks its 100th event this year. Attendees on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway can look forward to floats, celebrity guests and more fun on Thursday morning.

The weekend gets busier from there, starting with the opening of the Comcast Holiday Spectacular video display and Christmas Village in Philadelphia at LOVE Park on Thursday. Pro tip: Don’t miss the new-this-year 65-foot-tall Ferris wheel on the north side of City Hall.

Friday ushers in a brand-new season at Blue Cross River Rink Winterfest for those who love to ice skate or chill in the ski chalet-style lodge. Plus, the Macy’s Christmas Light Show makes its annual debut and Christmas Underwater gets underway at the Adventure Aquarium.

Small Business Saturday brings the launch of Holidays in Old City, plus tons of pop-up markets offering tax-free shopping.

The festivities continue on Sunday with two holiday performances by The Philly POPS featuring special guests Tituss Burgess and Mandy Gonzales.

Book the perks-packed Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package for an easy start to the long weekend. Valued at more than $200, the package is a great base itinerary featuring free hotel parking and other goodies that make exploring the city even easier.
